July Israel MongoDB User Group

In July we'll be hosting the user group at Wix's office. Expect technical talks, light refreshments, and networking.

We will have two talks presented by Erez Naim and Moshe Kaplan followed by Q&A session with 10gen Engineers.

What we learnt from performance testing to a MongoDB based Application Erez Naim, a Load & Performance engineer will introduce a load test scenario he performed in the last few weeks. He will present what he tested and how did he plan and executed the test in order to stress the MongoDB. He will also cover how he identified key performance aspects and tackled them using configuration and other measures.

MongoJMX: monitoring your MongoDB with JMXAre you in a middle of load stress tests and need to integrate MongoDB metrics to your results? Do you need to integrate MongoDB monitoring to your existing system EMS/NMS? We faced the same challenges when we developed MongoJMX, an open source JMX daemon for MongoDB.This lecture will present the architecture of the daemon and common use scenarios for it.See more:

    We've teamed up with our partner Trainologic to offer one lucky attendee a free place on the next accredited MongoDB training course in Tel Aviv. Whilst you're probably already awesome at all things MongoDB, this official course worth $2,250 could;

    a) look great on you CV

    b) be a good excuse to get away from the office for 3 days

    c) make a nice a gift or staff incentive

    d) help you be even more awesome!

Whatever it is fill out the card at the meet-up and we'll select a winner on the night. There can be only one winner but everyone who enters will receive an email with a discount code for 25% of the same course.

    See you on Thursday.

Hi We'd Like to use the meetup to introduce "MEAN" a new framework which incorporates mongo as the database layer.
More info can be found here - and the code here -

The lecture is practical and will discuss why we're building MEAN and how it can help people address their next project.
The lecture does not take mongo to the bleeding edge but will be usefull for people that are building web projects around mongo as their db layer.

Hey Dan, I guess we'll keep this for the next month...
Do you have any kind of mail I can send you directly and we can talk about this directly?

Our next meet-up is on the 18th July at Wix (40 Namal, Tel Aviv) and we're looking for speakers from the community. I've had a few requests for a comparison of NoSQL technologies so anyone who has used Riak, Cassandra, Redis or Couch together with MongoDB is welcome to suggets a talk.

There are also a few projects in Tel Aviv right now looking at tuning Map Reduce, optimising write performance without sharding and best practices for ops. I'm looking to have a 10gen engineer attend to take a Q&A on these and other subjects. If you have a story you'd like to share please get in touch.

Hi all - changing the date to the 18th so that we don't conflict with the Scala meetup that several folks wanted to attend.
