This fifth meetup marks as our first anniversary. The past year we held a meetup in a different city every three months. We met lots of interesting members in each city.
For this special edition we will go back to Ghent where it all started. Expect something special!
1. Geo queries in MongoDB
In this talk, Derick will be explaining MongoDB's geospatial features to help you (and me) to find the closest pub. The talk covers how the OpenStreetMap data works, how to store this in MongoDB and what types of different queries we can run to find the closest pub. We will be looking at some theory (no scary maths!) and some practical examples.
by Derick Rethans (https://twitter.com/derickr). Derick works on the MongoDB driver for PHP (https://github.com/mongodb/mongo-php-driver), is the author of Xdebug (http://xdebug.org/), and an OpenStreetMap (http://osm.org/) and mapping enthusiast.
2. Let The Tiger Roar!
A talk on MongoDB 3.0, WiredTiger and upgrading to it. If you've seen this talk you will definitely want to upgrade your MongoDB servers.
by Hannes Van De Vreken (https://twitter.com/hannesvdvreken). As MongoDB Belgium organiser I wanted to invite Norberto Leite to talk about MongoDB 3.0. Instead I received special training from him to give this talk myself.
