Speakers
Speaker #1 - Rohan is an integral member of the Crime Prevention and Detection team at Bendigo Bank, working hard to keep the bank and its customers safe. Having worked at the bank for about two years, he has gained insights into the fast-paced world of fraud prevention. Outside of work, Rohan is an avid gym-goer, a Melbourne train nerd and constantly exploring new ways to integrate and automate technology in his life.
Presentation # 1 - In this talk, we will explore the implementation of MongoDB within our Automated Fraud Treatment project to seamlessly integrate behavioural metrics within our payment flows. MongoDB played an important part in ensuring our project did not compromise KPIs for transaction throughput and latency. To achieve this, we optimised our MongoDB setup, leveraging its flexible schema and powerful indexing capabilities to handle large volumes of data efficiently. We will explore how MongoDB allowed us to scale to ensure that the solution could grow with our customer base while maintaining low latency and high availability. We will also discuss the challenges we faced during the implementation, the solutions we employed to overcome them and provide insights into best practices for integrating MongoDB within real-time data processing systems.
Speaker #2 - Guy Harrison is an author and consultant. He is the author of nine books on database and software technology, including βMongoDB Performance Tuningβ and βAI, Quantum Computing and Web3β. You can find Guy on the internet at guyharrison.net.
Presentation #2 - Using MongoDB to build AI-enhanced applications - Generative AI is changing our world, and nowhere more rapidly than in the context of software development. Software consumers increasingly expect AI features across all their on-line experiences, and software engineers are expected to know how to leverage AI to build such applications.
In this fast-paced (and hopefully entertaining) session, Guy Harrison will cover the theory and history of AI and how generative AI can be used in combination with MongoDB Vector indexes to build modern AI-enabled applications.
