Monmouth Raft Race

Join us for a fun afternoon to watch the 58th Annual Monmouth Raft Race. Having built their own rafts, local teams will race against the clock 6.5 miles down the River Wye from Monmouth all in aid of charity to raise funds for St David's Hospice Care, Monmouth Rotary Club and S.A.R.A.

There will surely be some unusual designs on show and there is an unofficial tradition of spectators throwing eggs and flour at the participants from the bridges along the route! So feel free to bring your own eggs if you want to take part in the tradition!😅

Plan to meet in Coffi Lab for a coffee and catch-up first and then walk over to the Wye Bridge to watch the start at Noon. Once we've seen all of the entries start, we'll head to the finish at Tump Farm where there will be food and drinks stalls and a chance to grab a bite to eat.

There are two official car parks: One at the START at Monmouth (NP25 3DP) and one at the FINISH (NP25 4TT) at Whitebrook.

The car park fee of £5 gives entry to both car parks.

For the START Car Park, follow the signs off the Dixton Road roundabout on the A40 trunk road at Monmouth, towards the River Wye.

To get to the FINISH Car Park, take the A466 valley road from Monmouth towards Chepstow. Cross the River Wye at Bigsweir Bridge, 7 miles south of Monmouth, and turn immediately right. Follow the lane for 1.5 miles. The Car Park is then on the right.
