Details
This peaceful trail leads hikers to the summit of Mount Sanford and then returns via the eastern base of the mountain, with an out and back trail to Roaring Brook Falls, which is an 80-foot waterfall. The tallest single-drop waterfall and second tallest overall in Connecticut.
There is some decent incline up the mountain at the start to get the blood pumping. Highlights include stunning views, well-marked trails, and a picturesque overlook.
Challenges cited are rocky terrain and muddy sections. Sturdy hiking boots and bug spray are recommended.
