Weekend walk #11: Rota do Planalto e Moinhos do Mocho

Join us for another Weekend Walk in Monsanto - our longest yet!

This is a moderate path with a few steeper inclines. We will start from the Parque do Calhau and head around the Serafina hill to the old panoramic restaurant. From there, we will follow the Moinho dos Mochos path and cross over the wooden bridge before finding our way to the Rua Fria and back to the starting point, where we can hang out and have a picnic lunch as a group.

Please note that the group size for this walk is intentionally small to support a comfortable, familiar atmosphere. In addition, I am only one person and can’t manage too large of a moving group.

If you have secured a place but are unable to attend, please update your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance.

If you are running late, please send me a personal message. Otherwise, we will begin walking at 09:05 latest to respect everyone's time.

Distance and duration
This circular route is roughly 11 km and should take approximately 3 hours to complete.

Meeting / ending point
Parking lot "Parque do Calhau"

🚌:The 770 bus from Sete Rios station will drop you directly at the parking lot

What to bring:

• Comfortable walking shoes
• At least 0.5L of water
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Sunscreen/hat
• Picnic lunch and blanket

Out of respect to the group and nature, please be prepared to stow your phone and keep it on silent for the duration of the walk.

Important notes:

• The walk will take place even if there is a chance of light rain - bring your rain jacket!
• If the trails are compromised due to long periods of rain leading up to the date, and/or the forecast calls for lightning or heavy rain, I will cancel the walk before midnight the night before.

All of the Monsanto Morning Walks are, and will always be, free! If you would like to contribute to the costs of running the group on Meetup, feel free to donate whatever feels right for you on any walk you join. All contributions will go directly toward creating more events.
