MontCo Board and Card Games

Have a fun night out playing board and card games with our group. Volunteers will host tables featuring a variety of games. No prior knowledge of the games are needed, just your interest in having fun and learning new games. Optionally, you can bring a game you love to teach and play.

The October Featured Game will be Gloom: a spooky, silly storytelling card game where you strive to make your Addams-family group as miserable as possible, before they meet their untimely ends. All while cheering up everyone else's families. The Gloomiest ex-family wins!

The games vary by host but it has ranged from traditional games like Rack-o, to party games to word games, to modern Euro games like Catan and Wingspan. The library also has games you can borrow to play.

While many games have a competitive feel to them, this group strives to be open and friendly. No matter who is winning or losing, we are all here to have fun.

Note that you should aim to arrive close to the start time or even a little early; if you're late the game tables may have formed already and it could be difficult to find a seat.

November's Featured Game will be Bohnanza. In this game, perfect for the Thanksgiving harvest, you will plant and trade beans ("bohn" = German for bean. Puns in game titles!). While that sounds like an odd theme, it ends up being a lot of fun as everyone trades and sells beans to optimize their harvests.

December's Featured Game will be Concept. Can you convey your concept to the team by using icons and images? Will you be able to understand their concepts as well? This light game will let you see how well you connect with your teammates through iconography. :-)
