Title: An Introduction to Neural Networks

Speaker: Milton Huang, MD, QEEG-D

This talk will cover the basics of neural networks: how they work, their capabilities, and their limitations. Instead of the going into the many types of networks covered in my previous talk on Deep Learning, this talk will cover the fundamental concepts of the multi-layer perceptron, backpropagation, and activation functions. It assumes no previous knowledge of this area.

Milton Huang, MD, QEEG-D is former psychiatrist, more recently working on EEG analysis for the purpose of understanding and directing EEG biofeedback, also known as neurofeedback. He is now studying machine language techniques to apply them to this problem and the larger related challenge of modeling interconnections of human behavior, emotions, and physiology.

Parking info:

One parking option is to lot 508 on Diverty street. This is the closest lot to the BIT building, where the meetup is held. You will need to pay for parking, using the yellow box you'll see as you enter the lot. (Please note that this lot will be excavated sometime soon; you may need to use the following option.)

Another parking option is to park in lot 71 on Inter-Garrison Rd. at the intersection of Inter-Garrison and 6th Ave. This lot is not as close to the BIT building as lot 508, but it always has open spots. Again, pay for parking using the yellow box you see when entering the lot.
