Explore Bay from Monterey Bay Kayak (MBK)

Great opportunity for all levels of paddlers. Meet at 10:30 to sign waiver which Organizer will bring, and safety briefing. On the water by 11am. MBK has fresh water toilets, kayak rental, and approximate 8 dollar parking. Easy, shallow sloped beach launch is perfect for those new to the sport. Western Sea Kayakers (WSK), a well-organized Bay Area paddle club, is also conducting an advanced paddle at same location and time. Depending on skills, this paddle can split into those with and lacking strong rescue skills. Those not yet proficient in rescue will paddle in protected water and enjoy a trip to Aquarium; lunch on a beach below the Cannery Row hotel; harbor exploration and other interesting features depending on interest. Those with strong rescue skills will have an opportunity to join a group with more exposure to open water.
