Del Monte Beach/Monterey Bay Kayak 693 Del Monte Ave Monterey

This paddle will offer the option of Del Monte Beach, Monterey Bay Kayaks (MBK) either to the Aquarium and return to launch; or round the Hopkins Marine Station Point to Lovers Point Beach for lunch. The MBK > Aquarium and return is a suitable protected water paddle for beginners who do not have open water experience and equipment. Paddlers who go past the Marine Station Point should have a kayak with flotation, deck lines, and experience with open water assisted rescue. Those who go to Lovers Point Beach will have lunch there. Paddlers who paddle to the Aquarium and back have a number of lunch options around the nearby commercial wharf we can pick from.
This Monterey Bay Kayaking Meetup is being conducted in coordination with Western Sea Kayakers (WSK), an excellent club based in the South Bay with strong safety and teaching practices from which we will all benefit. All participants must sign the WSK waiver at no cost.
I recommend helmets for beach launching and landing. PDF required.
