Sunset & Full Moon Rise Gathering

Join us this Sunday to enjoy a full moon rising at the same time as the sunset. The sunset is at 7:25 PM above the rocks to the west and the moon will rise from the east above Seaside around 7:35 PM.

Let's gather to enjoy both at 7 PM, and hope for no clouds or fog - the forecast is for partly cloudy. We will meet up no matter the weather, unless it's misty or rainy.

The meetup location at will allow us to see the sunset over the rocks and ocean AND the full moon rise above the Monterey Bay (see photo of the direction of the moon) within 10-15 minutes of each other. We may even see a reflection of the moon over the bay. After the moon rises, we may walk a few hundred yards south to see the moon rise above the Point Pinos Lighthouse... an amazing photo opportunity.

Look at the photos to find the exact meeting location - it's basically the most northwestern tip of the peninsula, a 5 minute walk from the PG Golf Links (golf course) and Point Pinos Lighthouse. Park on Ocean View Blvd. or in the dirt parking lots along Ocean View. Blvd. Check out the photos for more details of that area.

Just look for a group of 10-15 people on the beach near the rocks. Don't be shy. Just come up and ask if we're part of the Sunset Club.

Use this address to find the right location: 1313 Ocean View Blvd., Pacific Grove, CA. Keep in mind that Sunset Dr. (the coastal road along the beach from Asilomar Beach going north) turns into Ocean View Blvd. next to the golf course and lighthouse. We will be within 100 feet of the "Heart Shaped Rock-Love Rock".

Come out to enjoy the sunset and meet other sunset appreciators. Bring a beverage, snacks, and a friend to enjoy the sunset with other sunset admirers.

We may go to the Monarch Pub or the Hops & Fog Brewery in PG after the sunset.
