The Monterey Filmmaker Meetup is proud to welcome two time Emmy award nominated Showrunner, Executive Producer and Director Philippe Denham. Philippe will be giving a talk titled "Film as Communication" at the Marina Public Library on January 15th from 7:00 - 8:30pm.

Philippe’s credits include showrunning or directing high octane and socially conscious series such as “Alaska Fish Wars” for National Geographic Wild, “Untold Stories from the ER” (TNT), “Killer Outbreaks” (Animal Planet) and the pilot for doc series “Interventions” (A&E). Most recently he completed “Edge of Alaska” (Discovery), “Curse of Civil War Gold” (History), and “Out There with Jack Randall” (Nat Geo Wild).

Philippe is also the founder of The New Academy of Cinema Arts located in downtown Monterey. NACA is a licensed, immersive program that gives any active filmmaker, aspiring cineast or curious fan the necessary tools to capture their cinematic voice. NACA’s focus is on effective storytelling and the elements that go into achieving it. Whether filming on an Arriflex Amira or a Smartphone, NACA’s approach is to teach you the process of writing, acting, pre-production, production, editing and post production in order to fully achieve your storytelling goals.

We are very lucky to be able to host such a talented and accomplished filmmaker, so mark the date on your calendar, invite your friends and bring your questions!
