Club Meeting - “Flower and Garden Photography"

Please join the Montgomery County Camera Club as we welcome Guest Speaker, Irene Sacilotto.

Presentation:
Photographing flowers can be fun but also challenging. Subjects can be found in your own backyard flower garden and at formal gardens such as Longwood Gardens near Kenneth Square PA, and Ladew Gardens, near Jacksonville, MD.

This PowerPoint program includes the following topics with example images and tips from Irene's own experience. The presentation will include discussion of potential subjects, composition, lighting, lenses and perspective, filters and close-up accessories, problems photographing indoors and outdoors, and creative techniques including focus stacking.

Bio:
For more than 35 years, Irene Sacilotto has shared her photographic experiences and love of nature with thousands of individuals through hundreds of photo classes, workshops, lectures, zoom programs, and tours in both the U.S. and abroad including Iceland, Newfoundland, the Falkland Islands, the Brazilian Pantanal, South Dakota Badlands, Bosque del Apache, Chincoteague NWR, Tangier Island, etc.

Program sponsors have included zoos, nature centers, camera clubs, and conservation organizations such as the National Wildlife Federation and the Assateague Island Alliance. Irene has written “How To” articles on nature photography for national publications such as Outdoor Photographer and Birding.

Irene’s images have appeared in magazines, calendars, and books published by National Wildlife Federation, National Geographic, and Natural History Society. Credits include the book, “Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, an Ecological Treasure.”
