Guiding questions :

INTRO

As a society, we need to determine what kind of relationship we want with AI, in particular as we evolve towards general AI (defined as similar in intelligence to human beings) and eventually, to Super AI (something difficult to define as it is significantly smarter than humans).Relationship can be defined in pretty much the following 3 buckets:-

Society is defined & led by Humans. AI is a tool or has a servant relationship towards the humans (ex: Asimov’s Robots for somewhat utopia or Ex Machina for dystopia)-

Society is defined & led by one or multiple AIs. Humans have a servant relationship towards the AIs (ex: Matrix for dystopia or Don't Bite the Sun for Utopia)-

Society is defined & led by both humans and AI. The core of the relationship is some form of synergy. It can range from a symbiosis relationship (AI and humans are somehow merged – ex: if neuralink in its most positive aspiration were successful) to a collaborative relationship (both need each other – ex: movie HERs or Ian Bank’s Culture series) and a mix of multiple forms of synergies.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

Using science fiction references or raw conceptualisation, debate the pros & cons of the different forms of relationship. Are they specific relationship paths that lead to a better future for humanity?

6:30-6:45 Presentation by Dorian

6:45 - 7:25 break out into groups to discuss the issues presented

7:25 - 7:55 all groups merge back and discuss unresolved issues and points of contention

7:55 - 8:00 session wrap-up and feedback
