🎉 CELEBRATING OUR 9TH SEASON AND BEING CANADA'S LARGEST BACKGAMMON CLUB! 🎉

Start Time: 5:00 PM ⏰
Players typically arrive gradually between 5:00 and 5:25 PM. Organizers will be at the rear of the beautifully renovated and well-lit Bonap food court—home to a wide variety of international cuisine—on the Mezzanine level of Alexis Nihon shortly after 5:00 PM. (Look for backgammon boards and a yellow baseball hat. See a photo of our playing area here.)
The tournament will begin promptly at 5:30 PM 🕠. This schedule allows time to set up the boards, register, grab a coffee or a quick bite, meet fellow players, and warm up with a game or two.

To keep our weekly tournaments running smoothly—and to help create a sense of buzz so others feel encouraged to join—we kindly ask players to RSVP as early as possible.
Early RSVPs help us:

  • Prepare the tournament draw
  • Give newcomers a clearer sense of expected turnout
  • Build momentum and attract more players
  • Streamline check-in and start on time

Even if you’re a regular or you’re pretty sure you’ll attend, clicking RSVP early in the week truly makes a difference. Thank you for helping the club grow and thrive!

Venue: Alexis Nihon is a major urban retail destination in downtown Montreal, directly connected to the Atwater metro station and supported by a large indoor parking garage, available for $8 after 5:00 PM. Its newly renovated international food court makes the complex highly accessible and convenient in all weather conditions.

Tournament Format:

  • 5-point single-elimination tournament
  • 7-point final
  • Master Points awarded 🏆
    When possible, the final is recorded and analyzed overnight using eXtreme Gammon for instructional review, then posted on YouTube by Saturday at noon.

Guides & Resources:

Contribution: đŸ’” $5 per participant helps cover annual costs, including video production, Meetup and Chatzy fees, supplies, and refreshments for our yearly Fun in the Sun park event.

What to Bring: If you have a board, please bring it along đŸŽČ. We usually have spares, but extras are always welcome.

Les joueurs arrivent gĂ©nĂ©ralement entre 17 h et 17 h 25. Les organisateurs seront Ă  l’arriĂšre de la magnifique aire de restauration Bonap — rĂ©cemment rĂ©novĂ©e et trĂšs bien Ă©clairĂ©e, offrant une grande variĂ©tĂ© de cuisines internationales — au niveau mezzanine d’Alexis Nihon peu aprĂšs 17 h. (RepĂ©rez les plateaux de backgammon et une casquette de baseball jaune. Voyez une photo de notre aire de jeu ici.)
Le tournoi commencera Ă  17 h 30 prĂ©cises 🕠. Cet horaire laisse le temps de prĂ©parer les plateaux, de s’inscrire, de prendre un cafĂ© ou une bouchĂ©e, de rencontrer les autres joueurs et de s’échauffer avec une ou deux parties amicales.
