Drama Class: Let Go (And learn when not to)
Want to see what happens once you drop your familiar body language, thinking, and character patterns — and discover the part of you that's been hidden behind the mundane?
When we don't trust the world, our mind, or our body, we micromanage everything — scanning for danger, over-analyzing.
It's how the mind keeps us safe. But when we learn to let go, we embrace play, creativity, discovery — we start seeing beauty in strangers, in danger, in failure. We learn to hold both pleasure and pain, and move on lightly.
Through play, we'll identify the patterns — physical, emotional, relational, and character — we default to, and try letting them go: a different weight, gesture, way of seeing. Why? To discover a bigger, more authentic you.
But letting go isn't the same as letting everything slide. Some patterns protect something real — part of this work is learning the difference.
Courage, vulnerability, openness, and trust carry us on this journey.
Come out of this class with:
- A deeper connection with yourself, and more acceptance of yourself and others
- The experience of rehearsing what it means to let go of roles and patterns
- A clearer view of what's happening in your relationships
- The discernment to know what's worth holding onto, and what's ready to go
- The felt experience of acting from love & curiosity instead of fear
- A circle of trust — people who saw you try
We get there through play: spontaneous scene work, real acting drawn from our own feelings, objects, and scenes. We reflect, come together, and close by honoring something real that moved through the class — practicing witnessing, empathy, deep listening, embodiment, and courageous action along the way.
No acting experience needed. Just show up.
