Drama Class: Emotional Release
Details
## Drama Class: Emotional Release
Our bodies hold stories and feelings that never found expression. We learn to suppress them to fit in and be accepted, yet underneath lives a wish to belong and connect. The stage is a safe container where we can play with those feelings, release them, or hold them gracefully, and be witnessed doing it.
What we’ll do: Play · Movement · Contact Improvisation · Trust building · Activating and containing emotion
Using drama therapy–inspired tools: work with objects, masks, and images; embodiment; improvised scene work; and Playback Theatre to build empathy, trust, play and feel freer.
Come out of this class with:
- A deeper connection with your body, emotions, and intuition
- The experience of rehearsing hidden feelings in a safe, playful space
- Practice in witnessing, deep listening, and empathy
- A new light on your relationships with others
- A circle of trust, respect, and recognition
This class is for you if you want to release a stifled story or emotion, hold a difficult feeling in an artful way, unfreeze your body and mind, or meet yourself and others through play.
This is a drama class, not therapy. Everything is an invitation: you can pass on or decline any exercise or role, without explanation.
No acting experience needed. Just show up.
