Summary:Pixel art isn’t just for assets, but UI as well! This week, we’ll be designing menu assets that scale while still retaining their pixel-perfect look. We'll explore design styles and philosophies with Game UI Database, then create our own UI sets!
We'll cover text tool usage, best practices for font customization and readable design, and how to use tilemap layers to create UI prototypes for rapid iteration.
Bring your own project for some hands on advice!
*NOTE: The full version of Aseprite or Pixsquare is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but not mandatory to use the tilemap feature.
Take a look at our handy-dandy reference folder for a sneak peek of what you’ll be learning -> https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ttO9Pr0_VCft2R4YcHoqOwjljzzR2C-b
