Art at the Cafe + Art Challenge

Hey guys, Cesar here, I'll be hosting "Art at the Cafe", where you're invited to work on your personal projects, practice your drawing skills, or just work while enjoying your latte. I will be there to answer drawing related questions and / or give guidance regarding any of the lessons from previous classes.

One hour will be assigned to art challenges (2x 30 minutes each) where you can test your construction and conceptual skills, based on different and / or a combination of themes. You can choose your preferred art method (pencil, ink, digital, etc.) and style (realistic, cartoony, anime, etc.)

When: Thursday, June 19, 1pm - 4pm

Where: The venue will be at "Melk Café Sun Life", ground floor, at the SunLife building on Metcalfe street / Renee Levesque Blvd. Across from the building is Dorchester Square Park. Entrance via Metcalfe street.

Don't forget to bring your supplies and to purchase something at the cafe to support the business.

Retro Game Discussion, this time we will discuss: Shadow of the Colossus.

SotC is a action-adventure game released in 2005 on the PlayStation 2 made by Team Ico.

It is expected of you to have play the game before the event. A standard playthrough is around 10H. Feel free to play however you like, emulation, original hardware, etc.

This will be our first session, we will discuss SotC then we will vote for our next game.

Drawing Fundamentals - Level 01-04 (condensed)

When: Saturday, June 21, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Where: Level 2 / Room 2.130.1 at Grande Bibliothèque - BAnQ (Berri - UQAM Metro, with direct access to the Grande Bibliothèque)

Hey guys, Cesar here, I'll be hosting a 3 hr Art Session for those who would like to begin their journey into Drawing.

You will need to bring a pencil (B, 2B or 4B), an eraser, a sketchbook and a ruler. You can purchase these at Dollarama (5$ for a ringed, hard cover, black sketchbook!), but if you have the funds you can buy these materials at DeSerres.

For this session, we are condensing lessons 01 to 04 for those who missed those classes or want a refresher. You will learn to construct 3D objects, one point perspective, and create organic 3D shapes.
*NOTE: This course is beginner to intermediate level.

Per the library's policy, the reserved room for this event can only be accessed when a minimum of 3 guests are present, so please be sure to arrive on time.

Slots are limited. Please make sure you'll definitely be attending and update your RSVP if you can't make it. See you guys there!
