Summary:
This week, we’ll be learning how to create seamless terrain tilesets that blend into one another using the mathematical principles of Wang tiles (you can read about them here!). We’ll learn how to use tilemap layers to quickly iterate on our terrain tiles and mock up level designs.*NOTE: This class REQUIRES Aseprite (full version) or Pixsquare to use the tilemap feature. Otherwise, you will have no way of testing your terrain tiles and will not get much out of the class.
I (Tappy) recommend looking into using Tiled (free) or Tilesetter (free Demo), they are extremely powerful tools that can speed up your tileset workflow or serve as an alternative if you don't have access to tilemap features in your pixelart program.
Take a look at our handy-dandy reference folder for a sneak peek of what you’ll be learning -> https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ttO9Pr0_VCft2R4YcHoqOwjljzzR2C-b
