Special Workshop: Become An Open Source Contributor

  • 👨‍🏫 > Maxime David - Senior Software Engineer at AWS and life-long open source aficionado. As a frequent conference speaker, Maxime has shared insights at re:Invent, PyCon US, Devoxx, and CNCF meetups around the world.

Welcome to our latest event at Java User Group Montreal. This time, we have Anthony Dahanne, a senior software engineer with extensive experience in open source projects, to help you dive into the exciting world of OSS (open source software).

In this special hands-on workshop, you will learn how to explore a GitHub repo, how to fork a repo and make changes, how to create and review pull requests, and many more! But most importantly, you will also learn how dedication and respect matter more than code! 🗿

We also have Maxime David here to share how open source shaped his career and why contributing can be one of the most powerful ways to grow as a developer.

This workshop is open to developers of all level, no matter if you are in first year of university, doing a master, or a seasoned developer, you will surely learn something in this workshop!
