Welcome to the Maison de l’Afrique Open Mic & Jam Session — a warm, creative space for musicians, singers, and music lovers to connect through live performance and improvisation.
How it works:
When you sign up on Meetup, send us up to 3 songs you’d like to perform during the open mic portion of the night. You’re also welcome to simply come enjoy the vibes, support local artists, or join the open jam later in the evening.

Selected performers will share their songs in an intimate listening environment.
• Short Break
• Open Jam Session
After the break, we open the floor for a collaborative jam where everyone is welcome to join in, improvise, sing, play, and create together.
We have a house keyboard and a cajon, plus some hand drums. If you play electric or otherwise need amplification, we have a 12 channel mixer and sound system, and a couple house amps, so no need to drag your amp across town, just bring a long enough cable. Come early, the mixer fills up quickly. Doors open at 7:45 and we tune up and start by 8:15. If you come after that, we can't guarantee you'll have a slot. We try for two 45 minutes sessions with a 15 minutes break.
The price is 10$/person, which covers operating expenses (it keeps the lights on).
