Live with with Academy Award-nominated Canadian filmmaker Joyce Borenstein

Details

Arts on Fire is an intellectual, creative, and personal evening where exceptional guests who shape and revolutionize the arts share their stories to inspire and connect. Whether you're an art enthusiast, creative professional, or simply curious, this is your space to hear success stories, ask questions, and network with influential voices.
Tonight, we welcome Joyce Borenstein, Academy Award-nominated Canadian filmmaker and animator. Joyce will reflect on her creative journey and the legacy of her father, celebrated Expressionist painter Sam Borenstein, with a special screening of her acclaimed animated documentary The Colours of My Father.
About Sam Borenstein (1908–1969):
A pioneering Quebec-based painter known for his bold, emotional depictions of Montreal and rural Quebec. Though underrecognized in his lifetime, his work has since been celebrated in major exhibitions, including a retrospective at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
What to Expect:

  • Candid conversations about the artistic journey
  • Insights into animation, filmmaking, and visual storytelling
  • Intimate artist interaction
  • Exclusive networking with fellow creatives and professionals
