MonSFFA March Meeting - The Alien Franchise + Sci-Fi Presentations

Join us for MonSFFA’s March meeting!

• The Montreal Science Fiction and Fantasy Association (MonSFFA) has been bringing together fans of science fiction and fantasy for over 40 years. Our monthly meetings feature presentations, discussion, and community conversation exploring books, films, world-building, genre history, visual effects, and speculative storytelling.
• Featured Presentation:
  1-The Alien Franchise:A presentation exploring the themes, evolution, and cultural impact of the Alien series in science fiction cinema. (1pm-2pm).
  2-Architectural Exemplars and Curiosities on the SF Screen: We showcase a few noteworthy buildings and avant-garde architectural marvels featured as representations of the future on the science fiction screen! (2pm-3pm).
  3-Telepathy:A staple of paranormal belief, telepathy is examined from the perspective of true believers. Meanwhile, across many stories over many years, SF/F has adopted this sixth sense as a story device, exploring the power of clairvoyance, and considering the ramifications of telepaths existing within a non-telepathic society.

• Location: Le Nouvel Hotel, 1740 René-Lévesque Blvd West (corner St-Mathieu), Downtown Montreal. We typically meet in the “Faubourg” conference room. If the room changes, updated details will be provided prior to the meeting, and hotel staff can assist upon arrival.

• There is no entry fee to attend. If you enjoy the event and would like to help support venue costs and the ongoing activities of the group, voluntary donations are warmly appreciated (cash is simplest at the meeting). Annual memberships are also available for those who wish to become more involved.
