Doors open at 6:15pm. Talk starts at 7:00pm. Networking time starts at 8:00pm.
1) Building an AI Medical Scribe in Ruby (30m) - Jean-Sebastien Boulanger - CTO of Circle Medical
In this talk, I'll share insights from our experience creating an AI medical scribe using Ruby at Circle Medical, a hybrid primary care provider seeing over 50,000 patients monthly. We leveraged Large Language Models (LLMs) to create a scribe to enhance clinical documentation and save doctors' time.
Speaker Bio:
I'm JS, the co-founder and CTO of Circle Medical, a hybrid primary care clinic. I'm passionate about the intersection of technology and healthcare. I'm a McGill Computer Science graduate, a Y Combinator alum, and a Rubyist since 2005. I've been exploring ML/AI and its applications since 2000.
2) Open Gem Night Lightning Talks (30m)
All Montreal.rb attendees are welcome to give a 1-3 minute lightning talk about a useful Ruby gem (or more) that they have discovered recently or have known about for a while.
Lightning talk structure:
- Ruby gem name
- Problem(s) prompting need for gem
- Solution(s) provided by gem
Attendees are free to prepare Ruby gem lightning talks in advance of the event or to simply provide improvised lightning talks on the spot if they prefer.

If you have a Ruby talk idea you would like to present at a future Montreal.rb meetup, please contact one of the organizers (Andy Maleh or Mathieu Gagné) to get your talk scheduled in an available future meetup month.
