Join us for a social hike to Monte Boletto (1235m), a small peak with stunning views of Lake Como.
We'll hike up together, enjoy the views, and maybe even have lunch in a rifugio! (More info on that soon)
No experience necessary. This is an easy-moderate hike. You do not need any special skills or experience. However, you should be in decent shape and able to walk long distances and up and down steep hills.
The hike takes approximately 90 minutes one way.
The trail is mostly an old mule track of stones and dirt. The last few meters to the summit are quite steep but it's short!
WHAT TO WEAR:
- Running shoes, trail runners or hiking shoes
- Athletic clothes
- Light jacket or hoodie for the summit
WHAT TO BRING:
- A small backpack with water, extra layers, snacks and anything else you might want with you
- Lunch (if we don't do the rifugio)
- Cash for the parking
- Walking poles (if you use them)
TRANSPORT:
We will meet in the parking lot in San Maurizio, the small village above Brunate (at the bottom of the stairs to the lighthouse) at 10:00. This is a paid parking. Please bring cash for this because the card payment system is sometimes broken. If you need a ride from Monza, we will arrange a carpool and a separate meeting point.
If you are coming from Como, you can take the funiculare to Brunate, but you will need to hike up a steep hill for about 20 minutes to reach San Maurizio.
IMPORTANT:
1. The hike will go ahead if the weather is clear. If it's raining that day, we will cancel or postpone.
2. A professional mountain guide does not accompany this hike.
