Women in Tech: Behind the Build at Monzo

Women in Tech: Behind the Build at Monzo 🚀

Join us for an evening with some of our brilliant engineers as they share the challenges, creative thinking and technical decisions behind building products that make money work better for everyone.

From tackling complex technical migrations across large systems to making bill day something to look forward to, we'll take you behind the scenes of engineering at Monzo.

It's also a great chance to learn more about Monzo, discover what it's like to work here, and meet the people behind the products. And of course, there'll be drinks, pizza and plenty of time to chat! ✨

This event is aimed at women in tech and allies. Everyone's welcome to sign up, and we'll prioritise women for the initial round of invitations, with remaining spaces offered from the waitlist.

Agenda

• Technical migrations at scale at Monzo (w/Sophie Koonin, Staff Engineer, Operations): Upgrading libraries across massive systems isn't always straightforward! Sophie will share the challenges of technical migrations at scale, how we approach them at Monzo, and some lessons you can take away for your next migration.

• Dreading bill day? Not with Monzo (w/ Wei Ann Heng, Senior Backend Engineer, Subscriptions): What if payday (and even paying your bills) was something to look forward to? Wei Ann will take us behind the scenes of how we engineered a delightful experience that makes managing money feel a little easier and a lot more rewarding.

Each talk will be around 15 minutes with 10 minutes for questions 🚀
