About the Performance: Bach Society Houston, which presents rich, vibrant, historically informed live music performances of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries, will hold a Vespers program in the beautiful sanctuary of Christ the King Lutheran Church in the Rice Village area.

This Bach Vespers features the cantata Halt im Gedächtnis Jesum Christ, BWV 67, on the 300th anniversary of its premiere.

The performance takes place within the context of a church service. However, non-Lutheran or non-religious attendees are not expected to take part in the service.

Prof. Peter Loewen of Rice University presents a pre-concert talk at 2:45 in the Christ the King Parish Hall.

The service/performance will begin at 3:30 p.m. Attendees who arrive early can place cards to reserve a seat.

Parking: There is a parking lot at the church. Street parking is available in the immediate vicinity.
