An Evening of Passionate Romantic Music at Miller Theater

About The Performance:
The Texas Medical Center Orchestra combines the musical talents of the professionals at one of the best medical centers in the world.

This years' performance presents two romantic favorites, Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, performed by Mann-Wen Lo, followed by Rimsky-Korsakov’s enchanting Scheherazade.

Scheherazade is a musical retelling of the medieval Arabic stories as they came to be known in the "1001 Nights" frame story as told by the namesake character. Everyone will find the music familiar as it is among the most beautiful of Romantic era compositions.

Gathering Place:
We will meet near the picnic tables by the concession stand, on the side closer to the stage door. At 7:30pm we’ll go to the hill and set up. If you can't make it at 7:30, we'll hold some space. Look for our location in the comments. The concert starts at 8:30.

Seating for the Show:
The hill is divided with the left side for chairs and the right reserved for blankets. We sit on the chair side. Blankets may have an obstructed view. We try to get space close to the center and front.

Drinks and snacks:
Adult beverages are allowed. The city prohibits glass containers in the park. (We don't check and the city never has objected to discreet wine bottles.) It's always more fun when people bring something to share.

There are two main parking areas for Miller.

The Zoo lot has more spaces
