Mercury presents Handel & Vivaldi

Details
"Celebrate a milestone as Mercury Chamber Orchestra launches its 25th season with a captivating performance at Miller Outdoor Theatre. This free concert invites the Houston community to experience the joy of live music while honoring their support over the last 25 years.
"Handel’s Water Music, composed in 1717 for King George I of England, has enchanted audiences for centuries and remains one of the most popular pieces of the Baroque repertoire. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, equally as recognizable, celebrates the 300th anniversary of its publication in 2025. To commemorate this special occasion, the program will conclude with an exhilarating finale of Summer.
"Under the direction of Maestro Antoine Plante, Mercury’s musicians will perform on period instruments, authentically recreating the sounds of Handel and Vivaldi’s time. Joined by expert Baroque musicians from across the country, the ensemble offers a historically inspired performance that brings these timeless works to life.
"Mercury Chamber Orchestra is a groundbreaking chamber ensemble that seeks to redefine the orchestra with performances that faithfully present the music of great composers in settings that make audience members an equal part of the experience—not simply a spectator."

WHERE TO MEET: We will meet at 7:30 p.m. by the picnic tables near the concession stand on the side closest to the stage door. We'll then go to the hill and set up. If you can't make it at 7:30, we'll hold some space. Look for our location in the comments. Look for our location in the comments. The concert starts at 8:30. p.m.
The hill is divided with the left side allowing chairs and the right reserved for blankets. We sit on the chair side, but we'll try to get space close to the center and front. People with blankets may have their views obstructed.
Drinks and snacks:
Adult beverages are allowed. The city prohibits glass containers in the park. (We don't check and the city never has objected to discreet wine bottles.) It's always more fun when people bring something to share.
Parking:
There are two main parking areas for Miller.
The Zoo lot has more spaces
