Latitude 49 at Rice's Shepherd School

FREE CONCERT: "The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University will welcome acclaimed contemporary ensemble Latitude 49 for a guest artist recital Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Duncan Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public with general admission seating.

"Blending the finesse of a classical ensemble with the drive and precision of a finely tuned rock band, Latitude 49 has been energizing audiences with new music since its founding in 2012. The group brings together musicians from across the United States and Canada, forming what the ensemble describes as a diverse, unconventional family of sounds, instruments and experiences.

"Known for championing living composers, Latitude 49 has given nearly 100 premieres, working with creators ranging from student composers to Pulitzer Prize winners. Storytelling through contemporary sound sits at the core of the ensemble’s mission with programs that reflect the complexity, beauty and curiosity of the world today."

Alternate Parking:
There are un-gated “permit required” parking spaces by the stadium. I have parked there in the past with no consequences.
