This event highlights the progression of the Revolutionary War as it moved from New England, through the Mid-Atlantic region, and into the Southern colonies.

Following the end of the Revolutionary War and the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783, America begins its journey from conflict to building a unified nation. This period was marked by significant challenges under the Articles of Confederation, as the new country faced difficulties in governance. Social and economic shifts included the departure of Loyalists, the slow move toward ending slavery in Northern states such as Connecticut and Rhode Island, and widespread economic hardship due to heavy taxation and high inflation. Efforts to create a shared national identity emerged, reflected in the popularity of Federal architecture, which stood for republican ideals and highlighted the call for a more effective central government.
