This seems like a nice family run place, not fancy, clean and inexpensive. low $100s per night. 16 miles north of Lone Pine on #395. If booked up ask them for a recommendation.

**Let's get a group together to attend this terrific event in the eastern Sierra, along Route #395, in the town of Lone Pine.** (There are in addition 29 separate outdoor tours (some on horseback.) to choose from in combination with the Festival film screenings, talks, forums etc. The sponsor is, *The Museum of Western Film History.*)

I'm planning on visiting some of the natural and historic points of interest in the area as well. For example the nearby mountaintop mining town of Cerro Gordo built in 1875, becoming the richest silver mine in the state. There are many rock arches and mountain lakes to see as well. It will be nice to see the fall colors as well as we tour the area.
