Life Cykel - Growing a Social Enterprise from Coffee Waste and Mushrooms

In 2015, two WA FIFO workers concerned with the downward spiral of human and environmental health, discovered after months of experiments, that they could turn coffee waste into gourmet oyster mushrooms.
This discovery gave birth to their Social Enterprise "Life Cykel (https://lifecykel.com.au/)", launching Australia’s first urban mushroom farm and their unique Home Grown Mushroom Boxes (https://lifecykel.com.au/shop/mushrooms/home-grown-mushroom-box/), allowing anyone to grow their own gourmet oyster mushrooms at home.
18 tonnes of coffee waste later (6% of the 300 tonnes that usually ends up in landfill), Julian and Ryan have left their pay check guaranteed resources jobs to focus on Life Cykel full time, and have already started tackling their expansion over east.
