Pitch practice is on again!

We're giving you, the upcoming new startups of Perth, a chance to practice your pitch in front of the non-intimidating and supportive Morning Startup audience.

You must be available to pitch in person at Riff (45 St Georges Tce, Perth) between 7:30 am and 9:00 am on Wednesday, November 4th.

Note: We're looking for innovative, scalable, early-stage startups or ideas. Do not apply to pitch a traditional service/business such as a business/life coach, marketing agency, accounting firm or multi-level marketing business (Amway, Herbalife etc).

The plan
Each startup will get exactly three minutes to pitch (they'll be clapped out at the three minute mark), followed by a couple of minutes of questions and feedback from the audience.

The audience will also be armed with Morning Startup's pitch feedback app where they'll rate your pitch on:

  • The problem: How clearly was it articulated?
  • The solution: How clearly was it shown?
  • The pitch overall: How effective was it?

They'll also be able to leave anonymous comments on each pitch which will be shared privately with you after the event.

You're not pitching to investors (although we can't guarantee there won't be any in the room) and you're not pitching to 'win' anything.

The idea is to get practice standing in front of people communicating your startup idea as succinctly as possible, and getting useful, constructive feedback so you can improve the next one.

Only three minutes? WTF?!
Yeah, that's right. You'll need a clear, succinct pitch that clearly communicates who your customers are, the problem your solving, your unique advantage, and/or anything else that communicates your startup's value — all in under three minutes. It's totally doable.
This also allows more time for insightful questions and feedback (the useful stuff!), and gives more startups the opportunity to have a go!

The QR code to rate, vote and comment on each pitch will be shared during the event.
