Morris County Ski Club

Please join the Morris County Ski Club* on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at The Stirling Hotel! We will meet at the bar near the tent (weather permitting). There are heaters to keep you warm and toasty! Enjoy some schmoozies and boozies with old and new friends! If it rains, we can go to the inside bar.

There’s no set time for the happy hour so please join us as soon as you can that evening! However, the inside bar does offer Happy Hour from 3-5. You can enjoy something to eat at the Smokehouse or at The Stirling Hotel. Whether you get the brisket, pulled pork or smoked chicken, the barbeque here is outstanding!

Join the Morris County Ski Club* for a fall hike up at Ramapo County
Reservation in Mahwah, NJ.
Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025

Time: 10:00 AM
Meeting Location: 608 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah NJ
Difficulty: Moderate
Hike distance: 5 to 6 miles
Time: About 3.5 hours to 4 hours

Description: A moderate 5-to-6-mile hike in Ramapo County reservation. There is a significant climb early in the hike and a more moderate climb around the midway point. The hike will visit the 4 viewpoints on the Vista trail and pass by a waterfall towards the
end of the hike.
Important Notes for the hike:
1. Hiking boots are recommended.
2. Daypack to carry extra clothing, sufficient water and your snack.
3. Bring Insect repellent.
4. There are porta-a-pottys at the hike location. There are also indoor restrooms
which are usually open.
5. This is a county park so it will not be impacted by the Federal shut down
6. The visitor’s center is about a 35-minute ride from the VFW meeting location.
7. After the hike we may go to a nearby bar and grill.

Lifts start turning towards the end of this month, so it's time to get in the mood for the upcoming ski season!

Join the Morris County Ski club for their November 11th membership meeting starting at 7:00pm at the VFW Hall in Morris Plains.
Meet-Up memberships, and full memberships are welcome. Learn the benefits of having a full membership. Future ski trips as well as other upcoming events will be discussed. Join in on the 50/50 raffle!
Go up to the board and introduce yourself. Hang out in the bar (really cheap drinks!) and meet other members.
