MCSC - Fall Hike Ramapo County Reservation

Join the Morris County Ski Club* for a fall hike up at Ramapo County
Reservation in Mahwah, NJ.

Meeting Location: 608 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah NJ
Difficulty: Moderate
Hike distance: 5 to 6 miles
Time: About 3.5 hours to 4 hours

Description: A moderate 5-to-6-mile hike in Ramapo County reservation. There is a significant climb early in the hike and a more moderate climb around the midway point. The hike will visit the 4 viewpoints on the Vista trail and pass by a waterfall towards the
end of the hike.
Important Notes for the hike:
1. Hiking boots are recommended.
2. Daypack to carry extra clothing, sufficient water and your snack.
3. Bring Insect repellent.
4. There are porta-a-pottys at the hike location. There are also indoor restrooms
which are usually open.
5. This is a county park so it will not be impacted by the Federal shut down
6. The visitor’s center is about a 35-minute ride from the VFW meeting location.
7. After the hike we may go to a nearby bar and grill.
