Come join us at Jockey Hollow's Spring Revolutionary War Encampment! Jockey Hollow was a vital location to the army during the Revolutionary War. George Washington and his troops stayed here during the particularly harsh winter of 1779-80. The re-enactment will have people dressed in replica's of the clothing worn during that period. There will be demonstrations of military equipment and drills and replica's of the camp during that time. Rumor has it even George Washington and his wife Martha will make an appearance! Admission is free. No dogs are allowed at the encampment site. We will meet at 12pm and walk around the area. At 12:30 there is a military drill and firing demonstration at 1pm. We will have time to walk around afterwards as well. This even is 2 hours however, the event goes until 4pm if you wish to stay later.
Participation in this event is voluntary and organizer is not responsible for any injuries. Inclement weather may cancel the event.
