Late Lunch at Dampf Good BBQ
Details
Tucked away at Phillips Farm on Good Hope Church Road in Cary is what may be the best barbecue in the state, and certainly in the greater Triangle area. Dampf Good BBQ is run by two brothers and is actually Michelin Guide-recommended!
Rebecca and I scoped the place out one afternoon recently. It's essentially a food truck with a huge smoker on-site, and a covered picnic table area. You order at the window, pick up your food, and eat at the tables. Unless it's crowded, no one hassles you to leave, so you can by all means bring games if you like.

I'm scheduling this for unusually late to hopefully get there after the main lunch crowd, because this place is POPULAR.
The official address is 6800 Good Hope Church Road, but Meetup doesn't have it in their listings which the map shows 6701.
Texas Monthly profiled the place last year. It's a full one-hour prep/smoking-centered profile of a local gem right in our backyard.

And another site spent 48 hours with the Dampf brothers two years ago with some glimpses of the sides as well:

Hope to see you there!
