RED TOP MOUNTAIN LOOP HIKE

Join us for a close-to-town hike at Red Top Mountain State Park. We'll hike on the Homestead Trail, which is a loop trail that overlooks Lake Allatoona at many spots.

Ability Level: Moderate 5.5 mile hike. Not flat, gently rolling up and down terrain on popular trails.

Start hiking time: 10AM.
We usually are finished hiking in under 3 hrs.

Please plan to arrive EARLY to pay the entrance fee and be ready to start walking at 10AM. The drive time alone is 45 minutes or more, depending on where you live in Atlanta. No carpool arrangements, but if you live intown, it's a possibility we can arrange something.

Meet: Red Top Mountain State Park, 659 Red Top Mountain Rd SE, Cartersville, GA 30121.
Going north on I-75, take Exit 285 and make a right (east) off of the expressway onto Red Top Mountain Road and follow the signs to the Red Top Mountain State Park.
We will be meeting at the TRADING POST parking lot on Red Top Mountain Road and not at the visitor center/lodge.

Bring: Hiking boots, plenty of water, snacks

Are Dogs Permitted? Yes, sociable with other dogs and people. Please have under your control at all times.

Cost: There's a $5 parking fee at the state park unless you have a Georgia Parks pass.
