Nat'l Take a Hike day @ Lake Frank (Rockville)

Details
Celebrate the Day with a fantastic fall foliage frolic! This 6ish mile hard loop has rolling hills & multiple stony stream crossings (most minor, see picture for the major). Warm-up 250p, hike @3p! Pace: ~2.5mph. The beginning of the circuit is a mixture of paved & dirt trails sandwiched by protruding rocks. The ascent up these rocks is NARROW/ EXPOSED, steep, & can be slippery due to fallen leaves. This is the toughest section of the trail. Latter of the trek is through woodland that at times has some overgrown vegetation. Highlights include various viewpoints/ outstanding overlooks, an opt. ROPE SWING, & the serene Sunfish Pond. Good day to observe deer. Trek trajectory subject change. | MAP
