Postponed until tomorrow!Migration Morning- Bird Diversity Across Habitats
Details
We will explore the property of Denny Thomson, Professor Emeritus of Meteorology and former Head of the Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science. The conserved land consists of several microclimates. We will be joined by retired professor of Wildlife Resources, Margaret Brittingham, one of the state's leading ornithologists. She will lead us on an exploration of the diverse habitats on the property as they relate to the birds that nest there as well as those that use them as migration stopover sites.
We will be walking in wetlands and forests, so long pants, waterproof boots or old sneakers would be appropriate to walk around the wetlands and ponds. You can bring a dry pair of sneakers or boots to walk in the woods. Also binoculars, water, and a snack.
The rain date for this event is the following morning, also from 8 to 10 a.m.
