Gotham Go Group

Every Tuesday evening from 5 - closing. All are welcome, from beginners to pros. This is a casual coffee house environment so don't expect a Go tournament kind of silence, but rather a din of conversation that is probably the vanguard of intellectual New York.

Absolutely free, it costs nothing to play, and there is nothing to join. But PLEASE do get a drink, dessert or both to support the good folks at the Hungarian Pastry Shop who so graciously allow us to use their storied and humble space.

We have some boards and stones, but it never hurts to bring your own.

ON HOLD: B&N is not open for gatherings on the 4th floor at this time. Stay tuned (maybe later in 2021 or early 2022).

Join us again for food, drinks and Go at the Union Square Barnes & Noble cafe, 4th floor at the events table by the reading room. Every Wednesday!

This event is free, as usual, thanks to the management of Barnes & Noble generously hosting us. Please order some food and drinks to thank B&N for hosting us. It's win-win.

Ask for Go boards and stones from the folks behind the counter.

Play Go on every Thursday in Gowanus, Brooklyn.

If you have a Go set, bring it along.

When: Thursday from 6 to 9:30 PM

Even if you have not done so in the past, please RSVP. Often, there are only 2 or 3 RSVPs, which does not reflect the true group size.

Where: Whole Foods, located on Third Avenue and 3rd Street in Brooklyn, in the Gowanus area. There is a large parking lot. Take the stairs or the elevator (on the south side of the building) to the customer dining area upstairs.

Beginners are welcome.
