After a short round of intros, we’ll talk about our ongoing projects or
creative goals and see where we can support each other.

This month we are also reading Motherhood by Sheila Heti: a novel that delves into the contemplations and internal struggles of a woman regarding the decision of whether to have children. The narrative, a form of autofiction, is presented from the perspective of an unnamed narrator in her late thirties who is grappling with societal, cultural, and personal expectations and pressures about motherhood. Throughout the story, she engages with various forms of inquiry, including philosophy, mysticism, and chance, in her quest to make a wise and moral choice regarding motherhood. The novel is noted for its intimate and urgent exploration of this topic and is celebrated for sparking conversations about womanhood, parenthood, and the choices individuals face in how to live their lives.
