Los Alamos Loop (Highway 4) Picnic Ride

Looking for something to do this Sunday? Join us for a scenic picnic ride through the Jemez Mountains and the Valles Caldera.
We will meet at the Smiths on Tramway and Central (200 Tramway Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123) on Sunday, May 10 at 9:00 AM. We will have a quick pre-ride briefing at around 9:15 with KSU no later than 9:30.
From Smiths, we will take Old Route 66 to Highway 14 through Tijeras. From 14, we will take the bypass around Santa Fe and stop in Pojoaque for gas and a quick break. From Pojoaque, we will travel through White Rock and do the twisties up to the Valles Caldera where we will stop to take in the scenery.
For our picnic lunch we will likely stop at Father Fitzgerald Park (main park) in Jemez Springs.
After lunch, we will ride back to Albuquerque.
Important, please read:
· This is a picnic ride, we will not be stopping at a restaurant to eat.
· Arrive with a full tank of gas.
· We will be doing at least the speed limit.
· Four to five hours saddle time.
