May Adventure Ride: Parts of the NM BDR

Details

Join us for the May Adventure Ride. This will include parts of section seven (7) of the New Mexico Backcountry Discovery Route (BDR).
We will meet at the Warrior Fuel Stop (960 US-550, Bernalillo, NM 87004) at 7:45 AM, complete a pre-ride briefing, with KSU at 8:00 AM.
From there we will travel to Jemez Springs via 550 & 4. When we get to La Cueva, we will take a left on Highway 126 (partially paved). We will take a right onto Forest Service Road 117 (Section 7 of the NMBDR).
We will stop for pictures at TeaKettle Rock, then head on to Coyote. From Coyote, the ride will take Highway 96 to Highway 84 stopping at the Abiquiu Reservoir along the way.
Lunch will be at La Cocina New Mexican Restaurant in Española. After lunch we will travel back to Albuquerque.
Important Notes:

  • Lunch may be late, so bring something to eat along the way.

  • We will stop for gas frequently.

  • This ride includes miles of gravel and dirt roads—not suitable for road bikes or three-wheelers.

  • Expect cool temps in the morning and a warm-up in the afternoon. Dress in layers and be prepared.

  • A map of the route will be posted in the photos section.
