Sandia Peak Twisties Ride (August16, 2025)

Please join us for a ride to Sandia Crest on Saturday, August 16, 2025!
We will meet at the Smith's on Tramway and Central: 200 Tramway Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM at 8:30 AM on August 16th. The briefing will be at 8:45 AM with KSU at 9:00 AM.
We will take Old 66 East to Tijeras. We will head South on 337, then take a left on 217. We will the take Frost road to 536 to Sandia Crest. At Sandia Crest we will stop for a short break then head down to 14. Depending on the number of riders and the time, we will either have lunch at Ribs Hickory Pit BBQ or Burger Boy in Cedar Crest.
There are many twistes on this route, and it will be at the speed limit. If riders fall behind, we will wait at a safe spot. Even if everyone keeps up on the twisties, there will likely be some separation crossing Route 66 on 217.
Please come with a full tank and empty bladder. The only planned stop is at the top of Sandia Crest.
This ride is being planned early to avoid the August heat.
