ROAD CAPTAIN CERTIFICATION TRAINING

We will meet following the meeting at 9:00 a.m. at Mimi’s Cafe, located at 4316 The 25 Way, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
MTRA is committed to building confident, professional ride leadership, and this Road Captain Certification Training is designed to equip Road Captains, Sweeps, and Tail Riders with the skills needed to manage group rides safely and effectively. This class will strengthen your ability to handle a variety of ride situations while reinforcing that MTRA fully supports its ride leaders every mile of the way. Road Captains determine the route, pace, and overall flow of the ride, while the Sweep ensures the group’s safety from the rear, operating outside the standard spacing guidelines in service of the group.
This all-new class covers safety, ride planning, leadership expectations, and practical, real-world insights to help our leaders succeed with confidence. All members are welcome, as the training offers valuable insight for any rider. Following the formal session, a group ride will allow new Road Captains to lead and sweep a portion of the ride, with experienced leaders available to provide guidance and share their experiences.
