Pecos National Park Picnic Ride

After the meeting at approximately 9:30 am we will have our pre ride meeting and leave for Pecos. Please remember to have your picnic lunch with you. From Jefferson St we will merge onto I 25 S. Ride 3 miles and take exit 226A-B towards Santa Rosa onto I 40 E. We ride thru the city 15 miles and take exit 175 toward NM 14 N/Cedar Crest. Stay in the left lane to merge onto NM 14 N. Ride 6 miles to the Shell Station on the right. It is just before the traffic circle. If you miss the initial entrance, proceed into the circle, you can enter the station from there. We will regroup here, gas up and use restrooms. After 15 minutes we will continue the ride by leaving the station from the left exit onto Frost Road. We will ride Frost Rd and NM 472 for 20 miles. We will turn left onto NM 41 N in Stanley. We ride thru Galisteo. After 24 miles we turn left at a stop sign onto US 285 N and ride almost 7 miles thru Lamy and merge onto I 25 N towards Glorieta and Pecos. In almost 9 miles we take exit 299. At the top of the ramp we turn left, go over the bridge and turn right onto NM 50. We ride approximately 6 miles and turn right onto NM 63 S and ride for 1.9 miles to the park entrance. We will ride to the overflow lot where there are picnic tables and restrooms. We will eat our lunch there and then tour the park and ruins.
The ride home is the reverse. Turn left onto 63 N, ride 1.9 miles and turn left onto NM 50. After 6 miles merge onto the I 25 S ramp towards Santa Fe. We will ride 40 miles to exit 259 towards Santo Domingo Pueblo. At the top of the ramp go right and then left into the gas station. We will gas up and use restrooms. We will say our goodbyes here as the ride ends. Riders will find there way home from here.
