Bicycle tour in Jette/Laeken : Europe in a nutshell

Details

The end of August....

An excellent time to have a special bike tour in Jette and Laeken !
Special, because this bike ride will capture the history of Europe in a nutshell (a kind of summary of the whole BXL Guided Tours season).
We will be riding through history starting from a Roman villa, via the Palace of Laeken, the Atomium and a lot of others stops till the home of Magritte.
Most of these sites will be drive-by's (except for the house of Magritte), but if we are ahead of schedule we might pop in somewhere.
We will start the tour between 10.30 hrs. and 11.00 hrs. and we are scheduled to finish around 16.00 Hrs.
Around 12.00 Hrs, we will have a short stop to have a bite (bring something small with you). At 14.00 Hrs, we will stop for sushi (or something else you like).
At 16.00, we will reach our final destination (the house of Tom in the Jan Sobieski street).

Here you can park your bike safely in a closed garage.

This bike ride is a prelude to the party we will be having later the same day. Hope you can make it to the 2 events !

Date and time of the event:
Saturday 27th of August at 10.30 AM; we meet at the Jan Sobieskistreet 3, Laeken.

Practical info:
Bring your own bike. It does not have to be an electric bike and we will certainly apply a reasonable pace, but the area of Laeken and Jette is quite hilly and some slopes will challenge you if you have a no-elec bike.
Make sure you and your bike are in good shape !

Telephone contact number: +32 497053615 (Carl)
Price of the event: free, except 8 € if you do not have a Museum Pass (for the visit of the house of Magritte).
Please make sure to pay upfront and honour your RSVP.

Guided tour in English language, possible to ask questions in French, Dutch,.. As always, bring adapted clothing and your good spirit.

CU!

By the way, this is the complete itinerary:

We meet at Jan Sobiesko and then go to the Woods of Laarbeek (we stop at the Chalet), where the earliest inhabitants of Brussels lived.
Then, we are heading to a Roman Villa, the Our Lady of Jette church (with a cave that mimics the one in Lourdes), the Royal Church of Laeken, the Saint Anna source (worshiped by duchess Isabella of Spain), the Palace of Laeken and the Royal Greenhouses, the Chinese Pavillion and Japanese pagoda, The Centenary Palace, the BXL Design Museum, the Atomium, Horta’s Art Deco buildings at the Brugmann hospital and finally the house of Magritte.
